Katie Mathews

Katie Mathews is a country music singer/songwriter.  Katie’s music career started in musical theater at the age of 8.  She would continue to perform in the Utah Festival Opera until the age of 12 when she decided that country music was her passion. 

She would perform all around her home town until she caught the eye of Kelly Eisenhour who was performing in Las Vegas with Gladys Knight at the time.  Katie would attend their shows in Las Vegas and was lucky enough to receive vocal coaching from Kelly for several years.  At the young age of 14 Katie would perform full time with her own original music. 

Katie has had the opportunity to open for many amazing artists during her career.  Such as, Country Music recording artists SHeDAISY, Chely Wright and Ty Herndon.  She was thrilled when Ty Herndon ask her to join him on tour as his opener.  This would lead her to move to Nashville TN at the age of 17.  Katie had many opportunities to perform in and around Nashville for the next nine years.  She has sang for crowds at the famous “Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge”, “Exit Inn” and the “Bluebird Café” to name a few.  Focusing on writing and what kind of artist she truly is and wants to be was her goal. 

Katie is currently writing and recording songs for her next album.  She is a true artist in the fact that she wants her music to touch, uplift, encourage, make people laugh and last but not least have fun.  Katie truly is the “girl next door” and has one goal to touch people through her music.
